The Illinois State Board of Education is taking away local control of your schools

On March 8th, 2021, Governor J.B. Pritzker signed HB2170 or better known as the 1619 Project into law. Also, on May 28th, 2021, SB818 the sex education bill was passed by both the House and Senate and is now awaiting the Governor's signature. These new laws take away local control of your child's education. These new learning standards should come from your local school board, not the State of Illinois or the Illinois State Board of Education. We are going to have a live forum on this topic next month.
