Illinois Senate Republicans host display at the Statehouse

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Senate Republican Caucus is once again hosting their annual Veterans Day Wall of Honor display at the Statehouse, from Nov. 7 to Nov. 20. The memorial will feature a large electronic display of veterans and their stories, along with a wall where visitors can write notes of thanks to those who served.

LLCC honors veterans at 28th annual Veterans Day Ceremony

SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College will honor veterans at its 28th annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 10. The ceremony begins at 12:30 p.m. in A. Lincoln Commons on the LLCC-Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road, and a reception will follow. The public is invited to attend.

Hy-Vee cooks up breakfast for veterans and their families

Area Hy-Vee stores will offer all veterans and active-duty military members a free buffet-style breakfast from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10. Additionally, veterans and active-duty military will receive 15% off their grocery purchases on Friday, Nov. 10 when they shop at Hy-Vee, Dollar Fresh Market and Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh locations.

Mt Zion Chamber of Commerce to host Veterans Day Breakfast

MT. ZION — The Mt. Zion Chamber of Commerce is honoring veterans for their service at their Veterans Day Breakfast on Friday, November 10, 2023. The program will include keynote speaker Illinois State Representative Dan Caulkins. The Veterans Day Breakfast will be held inside at the Mt. Zion Fletcher Park Recreation Building, 323 Fletcher Park Boulevard, Mt. Zion, IL 62549 from 7:00 a.m.  Doors will open at 6:45 a.m.

Casey's offer free coffee and fountain drinks to veterans

All area Casey's will be offering free fountain drinks or coffees of any size on Saturday, Nov. 11.

American Legion and VFW host ceremony and parade in Monticello

MONTICELLO — Piatt County veterans, their families and community members are invited to attend the Veterans Day Ceremony and Parade at the town square on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 7:00 p.m.
